Wyo. landowners fear future status of ferrets
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) Wyoming wildlife officials say some landowners are reluctant to help reintroduce the rare black-footed ferrets to the state because of environmentalists efforts to get the animals classified as endangered.

Conservation group faults EPA plan to kill prairie dogs, fearing ferrets are at risk (The Kansas City Star)
WASHINGTON | A Kansas conservation group is suing the Environmental Protection Agency over a plan to kill prairie dogs by using pesticides that also are dangerous to other wildlife. Audubon of Kansas, along with Defenders of Wildlife, alleges that the EPA ignored the concerns of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service about the use of the pesticides.

Eastern Colorado clear of black footed ferrets (The Lamar Ledger)
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Colorado Department of Wildlife reversed a policy this past week that had made it illegal to disturb or remove common black-tailed prairie dogs from lands in Eastern Colorado, due to a perceived presence of endangered black-footed ferrets in the region.
