Endangered ferret count finds 26 at home in Kansas (The Kansas City Star)

A recent count of the endangered black-footed ferret found 26 of them at two reintroduction sites in west-central Kansas. A U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service biologist said only seven ferrets were live-trapped, but two dozen volunteers who spent a week in the pastures counted the others.
